The law, plainly

Abortion on request has been legal in Turkey since 1983 up to the end of the tenth week of pregnancy, counted from the first day of the last period. After ten weeks it is permitted only for medical reasons. If you are married, Turkish law requires your spouse's written consent; if you are unmarried, no one else's consent is needed. Foreign patients are treated in private hospitals under the same rules. What the procedure involves

The standard method is vacuum aspiration under sedation or short general anaesthesia: a ten-to-fifteen-minute procedure in a private hospital, with an ultrasound before to confirm dates and one after to confirm completion. You rest for one to two hours and leave the same day. Medical abortion (mifepristone) is not licensed in Turkey, so the surgical route is the one available; it is also the safer and more certain one at this stage.

Who is eligible

Pregnancy up to ten weeks confirmed by ultrasound on arrival, age 18 or over (parental consent under 18), spouse's consent if married. Bring identification; no other documents are needed. Blood group and haemoglobin are checked on the day and anti-D is given if you are rhesus negative.

Why Istanbul, and why through us

For women in countries where abortion is illegal, restricted, or blocked in practice by conscientious objection, Istanbul is two to four hours away, legal, and staffed by gynaecologists who do this every day in private hospitals. We add the part that matters when you are frightened and alone: a female coordinator who answers within the hour, a private transfer, a hotel in your name only, a gynaecologist who speaks English or works with our translator, and nothing on paper that names the procedure beyond what you ask for.

You deal with one coordinator, one hospital and one medical team from the first message to the last follow-up. Every price is itemised in writing before you pay a deposit, and the written quote does not change unless you change the plan. Flights are never included.

Recovery and follow-up

Two nights in Istanbul: arrival and consultation, the procedure the next morning, fly home the day after. Cramping and light bleeding for a few days; no tampons, baths or intercourse for two weeks. Contraception is discussed and, if you wish, an IUD is fitted in the same session. The gynaecologist is available by message afterwards, and we tell you which symptoms would need a doctor at home.

Cost of abortion in Istanbul

The published price includes consultation, ultrasounds, the procedure under sedation, medication, two hotel nights, transfers and coordination. IUD fitting in the same session is quoted separately. Flights are never included.
