FUE — Follicular Unit Extraction — is the most-performed hair transplant technique in the world, and Istanbul is where it is practised with the greatest concentration of experience. Our team performs FUE transplants daily, with the precision that comes only from thousands of completed cases. If you are considering a hair transplant, FUE gives natural, permanent results with rapid recovery and no visible linear scar.
Our all-inclusive package starts at €2,060 and covers the surgery, hotel, private airport transfers, post-operative PRP and the follow-up programme. In the UK a comparable FUE transplant runs £5–8K at a clinic and £7–12K on Harley Street; in the US it runs $6–15K and up to $20K in Manhattan or Los Angeles; in Australia AU$8–15K. The value, for an equivalent result, is concrete — and it is not the only reason to come.
What FUE actually is
FUE harvests individual follicular units from the donor area — typically the back and sides of the scalp — using a micro-punch between 0.6 and 0.9 millimetres in diameter. The follicles are then implanted in thinning or bald zones, respecting the natural angle, direction and density of your hair. Because each graft is extracted individually, there is no linear scar, no sutures are required, and recovery is markedly faster than the older strip technique (FUT).
The operation is performed under local anaesthesia. Most patients report minimal discomfort during the procedure. Depending on graft count, the session takes six to eight hours. We transplant on average between 2,000 and 5,500 grafts per session — not "unlimited grafts", as some low-cost clinics promise. The real number depends on the capacity of your donor area, and we give you the honest figure after assessing it.
Who FUE is suitable for
FUE is indicated for men and women with androgenetic alopecia, receding hairlines, or crown thinning. The ideal candidate has sufficient donor density at the back of the scalp. The most common profiles are men classified Norwood 2 through 6, women with diffuse thinning or Ludwig-pattern loss, patients who want to wear their hair short without seeing a scar, patients who want density added to eyebrows, beard or sideburns, and revision patients correcting a previous transplant that didn't deliver — a case we see often from UK and US patients whose first transplant was at a low-cost clinic.
The operation in Istanbul, step by step

Transparency on the team-performed nature of the surgery. A hair transplant is a long procedure (six to eight hours) and is performed by a team. The supervising surgeon defines the plan, designs the hairline, performs the critical stages, and supervises the entire procedure; specialist technicians on the team carry out extraction and implantation under that supervision. This is how every reputable clinic in Istanbul works. The difference between a reputable clinic and a graft mill is the qualification of the team, the real-time presence of the surgeon, and the number of patients per theatre per day. The JCI-accredited hospital is part of our clinical safety protocol — a standard most low-cost clinics cannot document.
FUE results: what to expect
Transplanted hairs shed in the first two to four weeks — this is "shock loss", normal and expected, not a problem. New regrowth begins around the third to fourth month, with perceptible thickening from month six. The final result is visible between twelve and eighteen months. Graft survival rates in experienced clinics sit steadily at 90–95%.
