What facial feminization surgery involves

Facial feminization surgery (FFS) is a group of craniofacial and soft-tissue procedures that change the bone structure and proportions the eye reads as male. The upper third of the face carries most of that signal: brow-bone reduction (type III forehead reconstruction where the frontal sinus wall is set back), hairline lowering and a brow lift. The middle third is the nose — a feminising rhinoplasty that reduces dorsal height and refines the tip. The lower third is jaw-angle reduction, chin reshaping (sliding genioplasty) and, where wanted, a tracheal shave to reduce the Adam's apple. Lip lift and fat transfer to the cheeks are common additions.

Which of these you need is decided from a CT scan and photographs, not from a menu. Many patients get most of their result from forehead and nose alone; others need the jaw. The surgical team tells you what will change your face and what will not, and quotes only what will.

Who is eligible

FFS follows the WPATH Standards of Care but, unlike genital surgery, requires one mental-health letter rather than two and no hormone-therapy prerequisite. You must be 18 or older and a non-smoker for at least four weeks before surgery. Bring any previous CT or dental imaging.

Recovery and follow-up

One to two nights in hospital, then the recovery hotel in Kadıköy. Swelling peaks at day three and most bruising fades by day ten, which is when sutures come out and most patients fly home — plan eight to ten nights in total. You are presentable with light make-up at three weeks; final bone contour settles at three to six months. Follow-up photographs go to the surgical team at one, three and six months.

Cost of facial feminization surgery in Turkey

The published price is a starting point for a single-region FFS (for example forehead contouring with brow lift, or feminising rhinoplasty), including hospital nights, recovery hotel, transfers and coordination. A full upper-and-lower-face plan is typically two to three times that figure and is quoted after the surgical team has reviewed your CT. Flights are never included. You receive a written, itemised quote before paying a deposit.
