Frequently Asked Questions

How much do dental implants cost in Istanbul?
Dental implants at Estetica cost €260–€1,200 per implant, including the titanium post and crown. Turkey offers the same implant quality as Europe at 50–60% of Western prices, and many patients combine their treatment with a city visit.
How long does the implant procedure take?
The surgical implant placement takes 30–45 minutes per tooth. However, the full timeline from implant to final crown is 4–6 months, during which the bone integrates around the implant. Our team guides you through each phase with checkup visits.
Will dental implants hurt?
The implant surgery is performed under local anesthesia, so you won't feel pain during the procedure—only pressure and vibration. Post-operative discomfort is typically mild and managed with over-the-counter pain relief for 2–3 days.
What is the success rate of dental implants?
Dental implants have a 95–98% success rate when placed by experienced surgeons and properly maintained. At Estetica, our partner implant specialists have over 15 years of combined experience and use only premium-grade implant systems.
Can I eat normally after implants?
For the first 2 weeks, stick to soft foods like yogurt, soup, and mashed potatoes. After 4–6 weeks, you can gradually return to normal foods. Once the crown is fully integrated (4–6 months), you can eat anything without restriction.

Everything you need to know

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth root with a titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone. Once it has integrated with the bone — a process called osseointegration — a crown is attached to restore the visible tooth. Implants are the modern standard for tooth replacement because they preserve bone, feel and function like natural teeth, and have excellent long-term outcomes.

Who is a good candidate?

  • Missing one or more teeth — from a single tooth to a full arch.
  • Adequate jawbone volume (or amenable to grafting if bone loss is present).
  • Healthy gums and good general health.
  • Non-smoking, or willing to stop for the healing period.

Types of implant work we do

Single implant

Replaces a single missing tooth without affecting adjacent teeth — the key advantage over a traditional bridge.

Multiple implants

Replaces several adjacent missing teeth using individual implants or a small implant-supported bridge.

All-on-4 / All-on-6

A fixed full-arch restoration supported by four or six strategically placed implants. The right solution for patients missing most or all of their teeth who want a stable, permanent alternative to dentures.

Immediate-load implants

Temporary crown placed on the day of implant surgery. Not suitable for every case — requires adequate bone and careful occlusion — but avoids the gap-tooth period.

Pricing comparison by implant type

The price difference between implant brands matters. We use internationally recognised systems only:

  • Premium brands (Straumann, Nobel Biocare) — highest long-term track record, typically higher cost.
  • Mid-tier brands (MIS, Hiossen) — excellent clinical outcomes, more accessible pricing.
  • Every option at our partner clinic is a globally certified brand. The partner clinic does not use generic or uncertified implants.

The procedure, step by step

Local anaesthesia, one to two hours per implant. Day-case.

The implant is placed into prepared bone. Osseointegration takes three to six months in the lower jaw, four to six months in the upper jaw. Once the implant is fully integrated, the crown is placed.

For patients travelling from abroad, we typically plan two visits: implant placement on the first trip, crown placement on the second, roughly four to six months later. In selected cases we can complete everything in one extended stay.

Recovery

Mild soreness for a few days. Soft diet for the first week. Normal eating within two to three weeks. The implant continues integrating silently for months afterward; you only feel surface healing.

Risks and realistic expectations

Honest risks: failure of osseointegration (three to five per cent long-term), peri-implantitis (gum inflammation around the implant, preventable with good hygiene), and — rarely — nerve or sinus issues that careful imaging prevents.

Understand what the implant quote actually includes

An implant plan contains more than the implant itself. The American Dental Association's patient guide distinguishes the implant from the replacement crown, bridge or denture it supports. Ask whether the quoted price includes the implant, connecting components and final restoration, or only one stage.

For several missing teeth, request a plan that identifies the intended implants and the teeth they will support. Ask whether the quote is per implant, per tooth or per arch. These units are different, and a headline number without them is difficult to compare.

Arrange travel around the treatment stages

Ask which appointments are for assessment, which are for surgery and which are for the final restoration. The Guy's and St Thomas' NHS overview describes implant treatment as a process with surgical and restorative stages. Your dentist must set the schedule for your own case.

A first trip should not be presented as proof that all treatment can be finished immediately. Ask what you will leave with, what remains temporary and whether you will need another visit to Istanbul.

If extra procedures are proposed after examination, request a revised plan before agreeing. Ask how they affect the total cost, temporary teeth, accommodation and later appointments. Avoid locking every flight and hotel booking to an initial photo estimate.

Compare alternatives before choosing

Ask the dentist to compare an implant-supported restoration with an appropriate bridge or removable option for your situation. Request an explanation of what each option means for neighbouring teeth, cleaning, appointments and future maintenance.

You can also defer treatment while seeking a second opinion. A clear plan should explain the consequences of waiting without using pressure or promising that one solution is permanent and maintenance-free.

Keep a record of the components and care plan

Before leaving, ask for the implant brand, model and component details, along with your treatment summary. These records can help explain the restoration to a dentist who sees you later.

Clarify which appointments are included after treatment, who assesses a concern at home and whether returning to Istanbul is required under any repair agreement. Discuss the costs of travel as well as clinical work. A promise to review an issue is different from a promise to pay for every related expense.

Will all my treatment be finished in one trip?

Ask for the stages in writing. Do not assume that an immediate temporary restoration means the definitive restoration is complete.

How can I compare two implant prices?

Compare the same units and stages: implants, components, temporary restoration, final restoration and any additional treatment. Then compare visit and aftercare arrangements.

Can photographs confirm suitability?

Photographs can start a discussion. Ask what examination and imaging are needed before the dentist can confirm the plan.

Ask what could change suitability before the first trip

Tell the dentist about gum treatment, smoking or nicotine, diabetes, previous jaw surgery and all medicines you use. Ask which examination and imaging are needed to assess the proposed implant sites. If a tooth is still present, ask why extraction is recommended and whether retaining it is reasonable. Do not treat an implant package as a reason to remove a tooth that might be preserved.

If grafting or other preparation is proposed, ask what problem it addresses and whether it changes the timing of implant placement or final teeth. Request separate consent and cost information for those procedures. A treatment plan should show what is established and what remains conditional on examination.

Discuss failure and maintenance without outcome promises

Read the US FDA's dental implant information and ask about failure, surrounding-tissue injury and restoration or bite problems. Ask which risks matter for the proposed sites and how a concern would be investigated; the source does not provide a partner-specific success rate.

Ask for a demonstration of how to clean the actual restoration, including access around connecting components. Confirm the recommended dental-review schedule and which visits are included. Discuss ongoing care without treating a fixed restoration, brand or warranty as a maintenance-free outcome.

Read the starting price as one component of the plan

As of 8 October 2026, the published price list lists dental implants from €260 per implant, with the entry naming Venuscom and no hotel included. That entry does not establish a complete replacement tooth with all connecting components, a final crown, grafting or accommodation. Ask the quote to identify the system actually proposed and each charge. Do not transfer the source page's other brand names to this price.

What if the temporary tooth breaks between trips?

Ask where you can receive assessment, whether local repair is allowed under the written terms and how the treating dentist receives records. Clarify restrictions on eating with the temporary restoration and what to do if it becomes loose. Do not improvise a repair or assume it can tolerate the same use as the definitive teeth.
